Nanjing University of the Arts (NUA), is a comprehensive higher art institution jointly established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It is the earliest independently established higher art institution in China that continues to this day, ranking first among China's six major art academies, with comprehensive art discipline strength ranking first in the country. The school's predecessor was the Shanghai Picture Art Academy founded in 1912 by Liu Haisu, the founder of Chinese art education, together with his painting friends. In 1930, it was renamed Shanghai Fine Arts School, with Cai Yuanpei serving as the chairman of the board of directors of Shanghai Fine Arts School, writing the school song lyrics, and inscribing the school motto and learning motto. In 1952, during the national higher education adjustment, it merged with the fine arts and music departments of Shandong University's art department to become East China Art College. In 1958, East China Art College moved to Nanjing, and in 1959 it was named Nanjing University of the Arts. The school currently has 14 secondary colleges including the School of Fine Arts, School of Music, School of Design, School of Film and Television, School of Dance, School of Media, School of Popular Music, School of Industrial Design, School of Humanities, School of Cultural Industry, School of Higher Vocational Education, School of Continuing Education, School of International Education, and School of Marxism. The school covers an area of more than 700 acres, with a building area of 300,000 square meters. The school currently has more than 1,000 faculty and staff, more than 700 full-time teachers, more than 300 professors and associate professors, more than 60 doctoral supervisors, more than 200 master supervisors, and employs more than 100 visiting professors and part-time professors at home and abroad. Getting Here
About 45 minutes' drive from Nanjing Lukou International Airport (NKG), about 30 minutes' drive from Nanjing South Railway Station, and about 20 minutes' drive from Nanjing Railway Station. You can take Metro Line 1 to Gulou Station, or take multiple bus lines directly to the campus.

The Nanjing Campus is the main campus of Nanjing University of the Arts, located in Gulou District, Nanjing, with a beautiful campus environment and complete facilities. The campus has modern teaching buildings, art galleries, concert halls, experimental theaters, libraries, student activity centers, sports facilities, and multiple art creation studios. This is the main learning place for all art students of the university and an important base for the university's art creation and academic research.
