Bachelor of Arts Southeast Asian Studies | UM-SATU (University Malaya) is a 3.5-year, full-time, on-campus bachelor's programme delivered in English at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur — designed to develop graduates with strong foundations in Southeast Asian politics, economics, development, culture and regional studies.
The curriculum spans introduction to Southeast Asia, package core and programme electives, politics and government in Southeast Asia, economic development, maritime economy, research methodology, ethnicity and migration, Southeast Asia in a global economy, research projects, specialisation electives and industrial training.
Graduates are equipped for careers as Southeast Asia Regional Analyst, Diplomat or Foreign Service Officer, Policy Advisor, International Trade Specialist, Cultural Consultant, Development Project Manager, NGO Specialist, Tourism Development Officer and Academic Researcher — or to pursue postgraduate study at University Malaya.
