Bachelor of Dance | UM-SATU (University Malaya) is a 3-year, full-time, on-campus bachelor's programme delivered in English at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur — designed to develop professional dancers and dance practitioners with strong foundations in dance technique, choreography, dance ethnology, performance and production management.
The curriculum spans dance technique, Malay classical and folk dance, ballet, choreography, dance notation, composition and improvisation, performing arts theory, dance ethnology, dance education, ensemble performance, production and stage management, year-end project, industrial training and programme electives — supported by appreciation of ethics and civilizations and student holistic empowerment courses.
Graduates are equipped for careers as Choreographer, Dance Instructor, Performance Artist, Traditional Dance Performer, Ballet Instructor, Ensemble Director, Production Manager, Stage Manager, Dance Critic, Dance Ethnologist and Event Coordinator — or to pursue postgraduate study at University Malaya.
