Bachelor of Dental Surgery | UM-SATU (University Malaya) is a 5-year, full-time, on-campus professional degree delivered in English at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur — designed to develop competent dental surgeons with strong foundations in oral biology, basic medical sciences, clinical dentistry and community oral health.
The curriculum spans oral biology, anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, operative and endodontic dentistry, oral medicine and oral pathology, periodontology, paediatric dentistry, orthodontics, prosthodontics, oral and maxillofacial surgery, general dental practice, community dentistry and human diseases — progressing through five years of integrated preclinical and clinical training.
Graduates are equipped for careers as General Practitioner Dentist, Clinical Dentist, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Prosthodontist, Periodontist, Paediatric Dentist, Dental Public Health Specialist, Hospital Dentist and University Lecturer — with pathways to specialist training and registration as a dental practitioner in Malaysia.
