Bachelor of English Language and Linguistics | UM-SATU (University Malaya) is a 3.5-year, full-time, on-campus bachelor's programme delivered in English at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur — designed to develop graduates with expertise in English language structure, linguistics, discourse analysis, writing, communication and applied language skills for careers in education, media, publishing and professional communication.
The curriculum spans introduction to linguistics, English grammar, effective writing, speaking and presentation, phonetics and phonology, sociolinguistics, morphology and syntax, semantics and pragmatics, discourse analysis, intercultural communication, language in technology and new media, academic project writing, final year project, English for specific purposes, professional communication and industrial training — supported by research methodology, critical reading and student holistic empowerment courses.
