Bachelor of Science in Statistics | UM-SATU (University Malaya) is a 4-year, full-time, on-campus bachelor's programme delivered in English at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur — designed to develop graduates with rigorous training in probability, statistical inference, data analysis and computational statistics for careers in data science, research, finance and industry.
The curriculum spans statistical programming, calculus, probability and statistics, regression analysis, multivariate analysis, stochastic processes, time series and forecasting, generalized linear models, statistical learning and data mining, foundations of data science and industrial training — supported by Student Holistic Empowerment (SHE) electives and ten program elective slots across Years 2–4.
Graduates are equipped for careers as Statistician, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Biostatistician, Actuary, Quantitative Analyst, Risk Analyst, Market Research Analyst, Statistical Consultant, Business Analyst and Academic Lecturer — or to pursue postgraduate study at University Malaya.
