Bachelor of Biomedical Science | UM-SATU (University Malaya) is a 4-year, full-time, on-campus bachelor's programme delivered in English at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur — designed to develop graduates with expertise in human biology, pathology, microbiology, immunology and laboratory diagnostics for careers in medical laboratories, clinical research and the biomedical industry.
The curriculum spans biochemistry, genetics, human body systems, medical microbiology, immunology, histology, parasitology, genomics, hematology, pharmacology, cancer biology, chemical and anatomic pathology, advanced medical microbiology, research skills, industrial training and advances in biomedical science — supported by biomedical ethics, biosafety training and extensive practical laboratory work.
Graduates are equipped for careers as Biomedical Scientist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Laboratory Technologist, Clinical Research Associate, Research Assistant, Pharmaceutical Scientist, Genetic Technologist, Quality Control Analyst and Academic Researcher — or to pursue postgraduate study at University Malaya.
