Bachelor of Drama | UM-SATU (University Malaya) is a 3-year, full-time, on-campus bachelor's programme delivered in English at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur — designed to develop professional theatre practitioners with strong foundations in acting, directing, playwriting, theatre design, traditional and modern Malaysian theatre, and arts management.
The curriculum spans drama appreciation, vocals and movement technique, acting style and technique, drama script analysis, theatre design and technology, directing, playwriting, traditional theatre production, Southeast Asian and Western theatre, arts criticism, drama in education, final year academic and performing arts projects, industrial training and programme electives — supported by performing arts theory, research methodology and student holistic empowerment courses.
Graduates are equipped for careers as Actor, Director, Playwright, Theatre Designer, Stage Manager, Arts Manager, Drama Educator, Dramaturg, Theatre Producer, Scriptwriter and Arts Critic — or to pursue postgraduate study at University Malaya.
