Bachelor of Science in Chemistry | UM-SATU (University Malaya) is a 4-year, full-time, on-campus bachelor's programme delivered in English at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur — designed to develop graduates with a strong foundation in inorganic, organic and physical chemistry, analytical methods and laboratory practice for careers in research, industry and the chemical sciences.
The curriculum spans principles of chemistry, mathematics in chemistry, spectroscopy, computer programming for the sciences, progressive research projects and industrial training options — supported by Student Holistic Empowerment (SHE) electives, co-curriculum, statistics and extensive practical laboratory work across organic, inorganic and physical chemistry.
Graduates are equipped for careers as Research Scientist, Quality Control Analyst, Formulation Scientist, Toxicologist, Academic Lecturer, Industrial and Clinical pathways in pharmacy-related roles, Regulatory Affairs Officer, Clinical Trials Coordinator and Healthcare Consultant — or to pursue postgraduate study at University Malaya.
